As a Group, we have a real focus on making positive differences within the communities in which we operate. This sits alongside our drive to manage our environmental impact – for everyone. Our systematic approach to sustainable logistics places high emphasis on the reduction of direct carbon emissions from vehicles and we are investing in environmentally-friendly premises. Our people set high standards in their positive attitudes, supportive behaviour and commitment to good causes.
Tom completes grueling 4x4x48 in aid of RNLI
Our Group CEO Tom Cropper has recently completed the David Goggins 4x4x48 – running an incredible 48 miles over 48 hours to raise funds and awareness for the RNLI.
‘Team Challenge’ which included Tom, Jonathan Raven (left) and Peader O’Reilly (right) raised more than £60,000 for the charity – smashing their initial target.
RNLI’s volunteers crew 24-hour rescue lifeboats, seasonal lifeguards watch UK beaches and the Flood Rescue Team do an amazing job for those affected by flooding.
Our COO Richard Cropper and his family did their bit to raise money for the NHS, by setting up their very own pizza service for their local community. Richard, who’s wife is working in the Red Zone in COVID-19 treatment raised an amazing £500 from his home-made pizzas.
By supporting our employees with money towards bikes and accessories we have seen a reduction in the number of car journeys and a fitter and more energised workforce.
Tom’s Channel crossing
Our CEO Tom Cropper took to the water alongside James Stephenson and swam the daunting 22 miles across the world’s busiest shipping lane – dodging jellyfish and ferries – to raise £130k for disability charity Caudwell Children and the RNLI. “Wow, that was tough! But exhilarating… and all for a good cause” said Tom.
Reducing idle time
We are proud of our ‘world-class driver’ training. A gold standard mark of driving excellence. This includes embedding awareness of the environmental impact of good vehicle management – drastically decreasing idle time through the fleet.
Supporting local foodbanks
Our teams regularly support the valuable work of foodbanks in local communities. Here Stevan and Hannah prepare a donation from Head Office in Wigan.
